Heady times for Errill GAA club.

Errill GAA club has had a lot of hurling success over the years, with four titles since 2006, but their football record leaves a little bit to be desired.

Player Shaun Meehan got in touch to let us know that a losing streak that stretches back to 2002 was broken with a hard-fought 1-06 to 0-08 p0ints win over St. Josephs on Thursday.

“Errill GAA club in South Laois is a Junior C football team, it’s all hurling here and we have had great success hurling  with rathdowney, 4 senior titles since 2006.

“To keep the Errill club alive we play football usually once a year! I think our last victory was 2002.

“Last night we beat St. Josephs on a mighty scoreline of 1-6 to 8 points with county hurler Paddy Purcell grabbing 1-5! To celebrate/take the piss we decided to pose for a selfie!”

And here it is… Hope the heads weren’t too sore the next morning, lads.
