The rock’n’roll legend Chubby Checker is suing two computer companies over a supposed penis-measuring app baring his name…
The Chubby Checker app, an app for Hewlett-Packard’s Palm OS platform, can apparently tell you the size of any man’s penis simply by entering his shoe size. However, the real Cubby Checker isn’t too pleased saying that it has caused “irreparable damage and harm” to his name.
“This lawsuit is about preserving the integrity and legacy of a man who has spent years working hard at his musical craft and has earned the position of one of the greatest musical entertainers of all time,” explained his lawyer Willie Gary.
So how much money are Chubby and his lawyers looking for? Well, according to the Guardian, “the creator of ‘the Twist’ is demanding ‘all profits’ amassed by the defendants in association with the Chubby Checker app – an amount that somehow approaches $500m”. Spelled out, that’s half a BILLION dollars…
However, according to the website houseofpalm.com the app was only downloaded a total of 84 times, bringing in only $88.13. So it’s a tad shy of the half a billion that Chubby and his lawyers are looking for.
