The former presidential candidate, Senator David Norris, stood up and gave an impassioned speech in the Seanad about the situation in Gaza.
Norris described Ireland’s decision to abstain from last week’s United Nations vote as ‘shameful’ and reserved particular condemnation for Barack Obama and the United States government, describing their ‘utter inaction’ as Gaza’s citizens continue to face an Israeli bombardment.
