Overtaking someone on a wet road is a bad idea, but trying to overtake someone on a wet bend is just asking for trouble…
Here we see a little red Fiesta as it overtakes the camera car in the pissing rain on the Korenovsk to Krasnodar road in Russia. The Fiesta then gets up close behind the white estate and loses control going into the corner. Now, it looks like the Fiesta driver tries to overtake it and then realises there’s something coming the other way, but his reactions are useless and he loses grip, and control.
The car then slides into the opposite lane and hits the oncoming car head on. The engine erupts into a fireball and debris is scattered all across the road.
Fair play to the driver of the white estate who turns around to check on the drivers of the crashed cars. It is Russia after all, so that was probably the second head on collision he saw that day.
