Intreo, a new service rolled out by the Department of Social Protection, has just splashed out on a new logo. But you have to wonder, was it worth the price tag?

Are you a Photoshop wizard? Or even just a dab hand at MS Paint? If so then you could probably recreate the dole office service Intreo’s new logo, which cost the government a whopping €60,000.

So what exactly is Intreo? Well, according to their web page: “Intreo is a new service from the Department of Social Protection. Intreo is a single point of contact for all employment and income supports.

The expensive logo in question…

“Designed to provide a more streamlined approach, Intreo offers practical, tailored employment services and supports for jobseekers and employers alike.”

What the website doesn’t say is that it needed a brand new €60,000 logo; one that could probably created in less than a day. But we’re sure it’s going to pay for itself in no time…

According to Newstalk 106-108FM, a total of €59,516 has been handed over to Dublin based company, Creative Inc. after it won the tender.

We’re all leaving to become graphic designers after hearing this…
