Ireland’s roads have been given a seriously poor rating by a group of experts, but in fairness, you only have to hop in the car and drive for 10 minutes to see why…

According to a report recently carried out by Engineers Ireland, a lot of the country’s roads have “deteriorated” rapidly and are only being repaired on “a patchwork basis”.

“The links that pull the rest of the traffic on to the motorways are not of sufficient quality, or are non-existent,” finds the State of Ireland 2013 report, which was only published yesterday.

The report also finds that roads repaired back in the 90s need to be repaired again due to poor long-term investment, and if we weren’t investing in the good stuff during the Celtic Tiger days, what hope do we have now?

Motorways were given a ‘B’ rating, while all other roads were rated ‘D’ and overall our roads got a ‘C’. So they’re certainly not best in class.

So what do you, the road users of Ireland, think of our roads? Are they in decent nick? Or could they do with a sprucing up? Let us know below…
