There’s nothing worse then watching the opposing team crossing the try line when you clearly saw a forward pass before the ball was grounded. It means nothing unless the ref or a linesman sees the foul in action, so for the first time in rugby history we got to see exactly what the ref saw thanks to RefCam.
It’s a great idea and it really does bring you closer to the action. Now, while FOX Sports are calling it a HD camera, it could certainly do with some picture quality improvements, but it’s only a matter of time before that happens. Here’s to hoping it’s rolled out across the board in the not to distant future.
