Don’t panic folks, we’re pretty sure the Treaty isn’t under attack…
Limerick’s City of Culture activities continue apace and this weekend sees one of the most ambitious, and exciting, taking place.
A 25ft granny, the ‘Giant Grandmother’ will be making her way around the streets from Friday. The massive marionette has appeared in cities all over the world since 1993, and it is the brainchild of Jean Luc Courcoult.
The granny will have a team of 27 ‘Lilliputians’ keeping an eye on her as she makes her way around the streets and it seems that some props for the project have already popped up in the city overnight.

We hope they are props for the ‘Giant’ anyway. If anyone spots Dr Who or Godzilla in the city let us know…
