Police in north London are at the scene of the horrific crime this afternoon.
The BBC are reporting that a woman has been brutally murdered in north London. The woman is said to have been beheaded, and a man has been arrested at the address in an area known as Edmonton.
The police statement on the murder doesn’t offer many details but the police are reported as saying that there does not seem to be a terrorist motive to the murder at the time.
“On arrival officers discovered a female collapsed in a garden area,” is all the police have said at this time.
Update: Police have issued a further statement.
“As such we are not prepared to comment on the exact nature of the woman’s injuries or the type of weapon or weapons used.
“A 25-year-old man was detained by firearms officers near by the scene of the incident. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.”
The Mirror are reporting that the man leading the investigation, DCI John Sandlin is ruling out terrorism as a motive.
“Whilst it is too early to speculate on what the motive behind this attack was I am confident, based on the information currently available to me, that it is not terrorist related.”
