The scene has been preserved and gardaí are investigating.

A major investigation in underway in Cork tonight…

The bodies of three brothers have been found at two separate locations in North Cork after the discoveries in Charleville and Buttevant.

The first discovery was made at a house near Charleville at around 5pm this evening when the bodies of nine-year-old twin boys were found by a relative returning home. Initial reports suggest the two boys had been stabbed.

The second discovery was made in Buttevant an hour later as the body of a young man believed to be in his 20s was found. That man is thought to be the brother of the boys found in Charleville.

Both scenes remain sealed off, and forensic teams and the State Pathologist are en route. Gardaí in Charleville appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them or any other Garda station.
