If you fall into a crevasse you’re pretty much doomed, so this guy is surely thanking his lucky stars after avoiding a frozen death.
Crevasses are seriously dangerous places. Most people think that if you fall into one you just fall into a deep dark nothingness only to die when you hit the bottom. That’s not the case.
Most crevasses are ‘V’ shaped so instead of falling to your death, you’ll most likely get stuck half way down. Your body temperature melts the ice around you making you sink further into the crevasse until the ice eventually suffocates you. Not a nice way to go, we think you’ll agree.
So you can see why this lad is so dumbstruck at what just happened. It looks like he drove straight over the crevasse on his snowmobile, but thankfully he hit it at the right angle. Scary shit.
