Kevin Doyle might be a bit down in the dumps following his demotion from the Irish squad via text, but there’s a free cup of coffee waiting for him over here if he fancies it.
Doyle was understandably a bit miffed having not even had the courtesy of a phone call to inform him of his omission from the squad after more than seven years and over 50 caps in the green jersey and Marco Tardelli wasn’t particularly sympathetic towards the Wolves striker when quizzed about the issue prior to the Ireland squad’s departure to Stockholm.
While Doyle mightn’t be feeling much love from the Irish camp right now, a cafe in Dublin, which we’re pretty sure is Food Game in Ringsend – just a stone’s throw from the Aviva – were keen to show that they, like many Irish fans, still care about him and his future in an Irish jersey.

With temperatures expected to plummet to as low as -10C tomorrow night it could be the Irish fans in Stockholm that are more in need of a free cuppa than Doyle himself, but we’re sure he’ll appreciate the gesture nonetheless.
