One guy had a brush with death during the week when a large tyre came barrelling out of nowhere and nearly killed him.
Walt Herbert and some friends decided to take on the challenging endurance test that is the Spartan Race in Charlotte, North Carolina, last weekend but what would happen next was completely unexpected.
While walking along a trail some screams could be heard from further up, and then without much warning, the large tyre comes shooting out of the bushes on the right hand side. Skip to 1.25 to see the incident.
Some people on YouTube were saying that the tyre would only have bruised the guy slightly, but they obviously don’t realise how much these things weigh. The average tractor tyre weighs between 28 and 30 stone – which is about 195kg – so getting hit by one at speed would definitely do some damage.
