This one just can’t get off the ground.
Sony Pictures have pulled the plug on Danny Boyle’s biopic of Steve Jobs.
Boyle had hoped to start shooting the film, which has struggled to find a lead actor, in January but the studio wanted a later start date.
Ultimately, they decided to take it off their slate entirely and now producers hope that another big name will step in.
Michael Fassbender is the latest actor to have been linked with the role of Jobs after talks with both Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale came to nothing.
Aaron Sorkin had been in place to write the script from Walter Isaacson’s biography, though his continued involvement will depend on how quickly the project finds new financial backing.
