Don’t forget: Saturday December 6th is the deadline for sending most letters & parcels to the USA & Australia

You better start licking those stamps!

If you want to make sure that your gifts and letters arrive to an address in Ireland by December 25th then you have until December 20th to sort everything out.

If you forget, and a lot of people probably will, you can still buy yourself some more time with Express Post, which allows you to send your letters up to December 22nd.

But what about sending stuff abroad?

If you want to send something to the UK, you have until to December 19th for standard and registered letters and parcels, as well as the international courier service.

As for the rest of Europe, parcels sent by standard post must be in by December 13th, while registered post can be sent until December 18th. Letters by standard post are fine until December 19th, as is post through the international courier service.

Now we get to the worrying bit for those of you who still haven’t bought anything for your friends and family living in a land far, far away (Uncle Vader will be p*ssed if he doesn’t get those Star Trek socks you promised him earlier in the year).

The deadlines for registered post and standard post parcels bound for the USA is Saturday December 6th, standard letters are fine until December 11th and the international courier services runs until December 19th.

If you’re sending anything to Oz then December 6th is the deadline for both letters and parcels under registered and standard post.

So if you really need to get something sent Down Under, get moving now or contact your nearest post office about the courier service, which is fine up to December 19th.
