Wetherspoons have found a location for their second pub in Cork

They haven't quite got the green light just yet though.

They haven’t quite got the green light just yet though.

UK pub chain Wetherspoon want their second pub in Cork to be in the former Permanent TSB /Bank of Ireland building in Douglas.

Here’s a picture of the building if you can’t quite place the location in your head.

Yeah, just up the street from KC’s, we bet you know that place pretty well.

However, everything isn’t 100% sorted for Wetherspoons just yet because they’ve been asked provide more information on their application.

The official in County Hall want the information to include a travel plan, a noise impact report and an odour management plan.

According to the Evening Echo, some residents and a local pub have objected to the development because of the promotion of cheap drink and because “it’s not in keeping with the future vision for Douglas.”

The UK chain has six months to comply with the further information request.
