There were two big winners in last night’s EuroMillions as well.
The National Lottery has revealed that former Kerry GAA Manager Peter Keane owns the store that sold Wednesday night’s (19 February) winning Lotto jackpot ticket worth €2,274,988.
The lucky Lotto punter purchased their Quick Pick ticket from Keane’s SuperValu in Killorglin, Kerry – which is nestled on The Ring of Kerry – on the day of the draw.
The winning numbers were: 2, 27, 28, 29, 38, 44 and the bonus was 20.
The National Lottery is urging all players in the Killorglin area in Kerry to check their tickets carefully.
If you are holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.
Speaking on the win, Keane said:
“This is like Kerry winning an All-Ireland for our SuperValu customers and our community here.
“We have been operating here on the Ring of Kerry for the past 30 years and this is by far the biggest win we have had! I wish the very best of fortune and happiness to the winner.”
Darragh O’Dwyer, National Lottery spokesperson, added: “We’re now urging all players who bought their Lotto tickets from Keane’s SuperValu on Wednesday, to carefully check their tickets – you could be sitting on a fortune of €2.2m and not even know it yet!”

Meanwhile, two EuroMillions players from Wexford and Cork struck it big in last night’s (Friday, 21 February) draw.
A player from Wexford is waking up €500,000 richer, after matching all five numbers in last night’s EuroMillions Plus.
The player purchased their winning Quick Pick ticket from SuperValu New Ross, The Quays, New Ross on the day of the draw.
The winning numbers in the EuroMillions Plus were: 15, 23, 26, 29 and 48.
A Corkonian also bagged €213,502 in the EuroMillions main draw.
The player successfully matched five numbers and one lucky star on their Quick Pick ticket, purchased on Thursday from Texaco Service Station, Model Farm Road.
The winning numbers in the main EuroMillions were: 1, 3, 11, 20, 43 and the two lucky stars were 2 and 11.
Emma Monaghan, another spokesperson for the National Lottery, said: “We’re over the moon to see two big wins from Wexford and Cork emerge from last night’s EuroMillions draw.
“It’s moments like these that remind us all of the excitement and possibility the games bring. So, to all our players, check your tickets very carefully – who knows, it could be you!”
