Sporting figures often hold question and answer sessions for fans on their Twitter pages but more often than not they’re pretty boring affairs. Shane Lowry’s, on the other hand, was hilarious.

The Offaly golfer is well known for being a bit of a character and renowned for his sense of humour on the circuit and those traits shone through when he took a few questions from his followers on Twitter last night.

Lowry answered plenty of questions about subjects a diverse as Tayto crisps, snooker and a topic particularly close to his heart, Offaly GAA (although to this scribe’s delight, he did say that Mayo’s Ciaran McDonald was the greatest player never to win a football All-Ireland), but his most humorous response came when he was asked about his favourite hole in Ireland.

Well played Shane, well played.
