Irish producer Paul Young meets The Man with No Name

JOE was absolutely delighted to see the Kilkenny-based animation studio Cartoon Saloon receiving an Oscar nomination for their superb film Song of The Sea.

Paul Young is the co-founder and CEO of Cartoon Saloon and their staff deserve all the attention and praise that’s coming their way right now as Oscar buzz builds and builds.

Part of the awards season requires all those nominated people to attend various meetings, lunches and functions but Song of the Sea producer Young could barely keep his composure in check after meeting of the most iconic actors and directors alive.

Clint Eastwood has also been nominated for an Oscar for his work on American Sniper and he had some encouraging words for Young when they met.

While this is clearly a lovely moment for the Irishman, part of us really wishes that Clint speaks to his fans just like his character Walt in Gran Torino. That would be interesting to say the least.
