The World Cup winner pays tribute to the young Irishman.
Dublin man Nick Schuster was one of the six Irish people who sadly died in Berkeley earlier this week.
Nick’s favourite footballer has sent a message of support to his family and friends today.
Bayern Munich and Germany legend Bastian Schweinsteiger replied to a photo and this message that was sent to him by Nick’s friends.
“Nick was a Bayern fan. His heart is still red and white. Bastian Schweinsteiger was his favorite player.
“I can’t in words believe how grateful we would be all (the family and friends of Nick) if Basti makes Instagram/Facebook post about Nick and sends a letter to the family.
“You will find below a picture of where Nick and Basti got to know each other.”
This is the reply that Bastian sent back.

The translation is, “The news makes me very sad. I wish much strength for this difficult time you, the family and all relatives of Nick. I would like to express my condolences also all other sufferers of this accident.”
