The families of four of the victims of the Berkeley tragedy will return with the young students’ bodies on Sunday morning.

At Croke Park last night The Script dedicated a song – If You Could See Me Now – to the six bereaved families of the J1 students who died in Berkeley.

Frontman Danny O’Donoghue attended St. Mary’s College, where two of the students – Eoghan Culligan and Niccolai Schuster – were also past pupils.

Niccolai, Eimear Walsh, Lorcán Miller and Eoghan died, along with Olivia Burke and Ashley Donohue, when a balcony collapsed in Berkeley, California in the early hours of last Tuesday morning.

The remains of Olivia will return with her family tomorrow.

The families issued a statement on Saturday thanking all those who had helped them in Berkeley over the past few days, in particular the wider J1 community who have helped them through their grief.

They have also asked for privacy at this most difficult time.
