This cinema may have scared children for life with this unfortunate balls-up

Literally the stuff of nightmares

Paul Moore

Literally the stuff of nightmares.

When I was a young lad, my fathers idea of babysitting involved renting a film, buying sweets and asking me to sit down and be quiet for 90 minutes. It worked.

Some Irish parents probably did the same but my dad was different because he let me watch films like Critters, It and Halloween.

Yes these titles probably weren’t suitable for an 8-year-old but the man is a parenting genius.

These parents in the US have a completely different approach when it comes to letting their kids watch scary films though.

A cinema in Ohio was recently filled with children who were happily waiting to see Pixar’s latest film, Inside Out.

Unfortunately for the tired projectionist, he confused the film-reels and ended up playing Insidious: Chapter 3 to the whole audience. Ah well, they’re basically the same film right? They both begin with ‘insid’ and feature scenes of people getting attacked and haunted.

No, wait.

Inside Out

I haven’t seen the horror film but apparently the first reel was so frightening that kids start crying in the cinema and that they’re now ‘terrified and asking questions’ about what they saw to their parents.

Kids today eh? They were tougher back in my day.
