A Kilbeggan family are offering up a reward of €10,000 after the theft of 100 livestock that saw their livelihoods decimated last Wednesday.
The Westmeath branch of the Irish Farmer’s Association have contacted the family to tell them that they will stake the €10,000 in exchange for significant information to help find the 75 cattle and 25 sheep.
They were taken from Niall and Christa Dillon’s rented farm at Cornaher, between Kilbeggan and Tyrrellspass.
According to the Westmeath Examiner, the ‘livestock was taken some time between 9 pm on Wednesday night and 1.15 pm on Thursday, and the discovery left the couple devastated.’
