This is an incredible story.
35-year old Amber Pangborn from Oroville survived a hugely traumatic experience giving birth to her daughter Marisa last Thursday.
No cuddly toys and balloons for this birth, oh no.
Amber went into labour as she was driving to her parents’ house. She took what she thought would be a shortcut through a forest, but got lost.
The baby couldn’t hang around and Amber had to pull over and give birth to her daughter. As if that wasn’t stressful enough, her phone wouldn’t work as the area was so remote, she had no signal.
She then had to fight off bees and mosquitoes over a two-day spell where she survived on apples alone.
She told KCRA-TV: “I was just there at the end, thinking, ‘Oh my God.’ I wasn’t sure if we were going to actually get out of there.”
She then lit a fire to try and attract attention, but that quickly spiralled out of control and the whole mountain went up in flames. It did, however, alert the authorities and mother and baby were duly rescued.
Screenwriters across America will be sharpening their pencils upon hearing this amazing story.
