Can’t beat the Irish Charm.
Well actually you can, as we came in second place in the recent survey of friendliest cities conducted by US travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
The Irish capital was ranked just behind Sydney in Australia which is so full of our relations, it was probably the Irish charm that got it the top rating anyway.
This has been quite a week for the Irish, with Irish men being voted the sexiest men in the world, the Irish accent being voted the most attractive and as well as all that, Dublin was also voted Favourite Worldwide city by International Travellers.
Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland said: “Again and again, our research shows us that the friendliness of our people is one of our unique selling points. It is the warm welcome and the ‘craic’ here that resonates with our overseas visitors and makes Dublin and Ireland such a great choice for a short break or holiday.”
Dublin jumped a whopping four places in the survey of friendliest cities since last year when they finished up in fifth place.
We must have gotten nicer these past twelve months, the new years resolutions must be working.
The top ten friendliest cities are:
1. Sydney, Australia
2. Dublin, Ireland
3. Queenstown, New Zealand
4. Kraków, Poland
5. Bruges, Belgium
6. Edinburgh, Scotland
7. Kyoto, Japan
8. Budapest, Hungary
9. Auckland, New Zealand
10. Reykjavik, Iceland
