The website Ashley Madison has been in the news over the past few weeks after the email address of hundreds of thousands of the site’s users were leaked online.
If you haven’t heard of Ashley Madison before, it’s a site that helps married people cheat on their spouse in a discreet manner. Yep, a charming concept.
The site has over 39 million users and a report yesterday revealed that approximately 115,000 of them from Ireland, but there’s been a further breakdown today.
That brings us to our “auld lad theory,” the digging into the data found that 3,260 email addresses in the leak had a domain name finishing in @eircom.net… AT EIRCOM DOT NET.
Case closed.
