Awful news.
A member of the 2013 All-Ireland winning Mayo minor team has tragically passed away following a car crash in Mayo last night.
19-year-old Darragh Doherty from Kilmaine died after the car he was driving crashed on the N84 Ballinrobe to Kilmaine road, one mile outside of Ballinrobe at approximately 10.30pm last night.
A talented footballer, Darragh played a crucial role in Mayo’s victory over Tyrone in the 2013 All-Ireland minor final, scoring 1-2 in the final as the Green and Red won the Tom Markham Cup for the first time since 1985.
Tributes have poured in to Darragh from across the GAA community, while his club Kilmaine paid him a heartfelt tribute while announcing the tragic news in a post on their Facebook page.
