I’ve a theory that films have ruined the moment when a man decides to propose to his girlfriend.
I mean, not everyone wants to buy a 7,280 carat diamond, plane tickets to Paris and take the time to train a dove to magically fly to the top of the Eiffel Tour and somehow manage place the ring on your missus’ finger.
Although, for every awful Jennifer Lopez, Katherine Heigl or Meg Ryan proposal based rom-com, lies a classic horror film that’s just waiting to be mined for romantic inspiration.
The iconic Halloween by John Carpenter is Katherine Canipe’s favourite film and her boyfriend, Alec Wells, decided to dress up as the psychopathic Michael Myers while popping the question to his missus.
What makes the moment even better though is that this very tender and romantic moment is done on the exact same location of arguably the best fright in the history of horror.
