Come home soon.
Emigration has affected almost every person in Ireland be it a brother, sister, cousin or friend packing their bags and heading abroad in pursuit of work and/or adventure.
The rate of emigration in the 12 months up to April 2015 was 35,300 people, which is a 13% drop from the year before.
The decrease is positive, but it’s still almost 3,000 per month which is a lot.
The figures published by the Central Statistics Office also say the rate of immigration is up 4% with 12,100 Irish people returning to the country in the 12 months up to April 2015.
We like that and hopefully we’ll be welcoming a hell of a lot more home in the next 12 months.
Hat-tip to Irish Times.
