DoneDeal have dealt with the people trying to sell GAA tickets for ridiculous money

Proper order

Proper order.

The tickets for this weekend’s matches at Croke Park are like gold dust as 160,000 fans of Mayo, Dublin, Kilkenny and Galway have sold out GAA HQ.

On big sporting occasions like Saturday and Sunday, the demand is higher than the supply which leads to people buying tickets from wherever they can.

DoneDeal is the go-to place if you want to buy anything online in Ireland and they’ve made a statement today after people tried to sell tickets on their site for hugely inflated prices.

The statement reads:

“Following a review of the GAA’s ticket rules and from previous consultations with the organisation, DoneDeal has today decided to remove ads that are selling tickets for this year’s GAA All Ireland finals and semi-finals and where demand is likely to exceed supply.

“This decision has been taken in the interests of genuine fans, who are encouraged to source tickets through the official GAA channels and in doing so, minimise the potential for ticket touting and/or the selling of tickets significantly above face value.”

They’ve also asked their users to report anyone who’s trying to sell tickets on the site.

Fair play to them.
