Awesome.
In case you’ve just waken up from a lengthy hibernation, the new Star Wars movie was being filmed in Kerry over the last few weeks.
The cast and crew have been filming scenes on Skellig Michael and some were drinking and pulling pints in the local area in the south of the Kingdom.
Local newspaper Kerry’s Eye are reporting that the producers of The Force Awakens left a lovely gift before they finished shooting.
The people behind the movie donated €10,000 to Valentia Lifeboat as a thank you for all their help during their time there.
The filmmakers wanted the generous donation to be as low-key as possible so they refused to publicise it. That’s such a kind gesture.
