“There has been an awakening…”
Right now, I currently feel like the depressed priest that Tommy Tiernan played in Father Ted. This being said, I’ve got to face the fact that Ireland are out of the Rugby World Cup.
The force simply wasn’t with them against Argentina and we really missed the sheer AT-AT like power of Sean O’Brien, Jedi level-precision of Johnny Sexton and the Yoda-esque game knowledge that Paul O’Connell has.
It’s at moments like this when I look for a new hope on my horizon and while I’m hoping the Irish football empire strikes back against Bosnia, the knowledge that there’s a new Star Wars film will also lift my spirits.
This poster has almost made me forget about the phantom menace that was the Argentinean back-line in Cardiff.
