VIDEO: Christmas is sorted because this man has made a real life lightsaber

Want, want, want

Paul Moore

Want, want, want.

There’s still a few days before Santa gets into his X-Wing and flies around the galaxy – that would be much cooler – but if you’re undecided about what to ask for Christmas, the greatest weapon of all-time might make your list.

At some point, every single person that has seen Star Wars will have wanted to own “the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon for a more civilized age” but this engineer named Allen has made dreams become reality.

Luke-Skywalker

He took a replica of Anakin Skywalker’s second lightsaber (or Luke Skywalker’s first, if you’d prefer) and added the following: nichrome ignition, 3D-printed enclosure around a syringe valve, acetone mixture for fuel and some butane for propellant.

I’m very aware that those ingredients sound more like Star Wars characters than vital components of a Jedi’s weapon but the force is strong with this finished effort.

All you need to do now is convince the guy that made this to make one for you also, use the Jedi mind trick on him, and add your own sound effects. This is so cool.
