And the Oscar goes to…
There’s plenty of Irish interest at the 88th Academy Awards with Saoirse Ronan, Michael Fassbender and director Lenny Abrahamson all getting nods.
Things get even better for ‘Room’ though because it has been nominated in the best film category along with getting a nod for best adapted screenplay. Brooklyn is also in those same categories.
There’s also fantastic news for Irish director Benjamin Cleary because he has been nominated in the Best live action short category for his film Stutterer.
Emma Donoghue and Ed Guiney complete the list of Irish candidates but there’s also good news for Brie Larson in Room too.
The ceremony will be hosted by Chris Rock for the second time and takes place on February 28. It’s time to start practicing those speeches guys.
