The roads are genuinely treacherous in certain areas.
Some counties have really been feeling the full impact of the cold snap over the last 24 hours, and this latest image from Mayo shows the nasty side of the weather.
JOE reader has sent us this picture, taken on the French Hill road in Castlebar, Mayo by his friend, this morning.
Thankfully, nobody was injured in the incident, but it does show the impact that the black ice is having on the roads.
