Dublin is about to get a massive, massive facelift and motorists will not be happy about it.
Dublin City Council has unveiled its plans to turn College Green into a massive plaza that will be mostly closed to traffic.

Private cars will be completely removed from the area, which will see a massive open area in front of the Bank of Ireland and the front gate of Trinity College.
Buses, the LUAS, cyclists and possibly taxis will be allowed to pass in front of Trinity, but private cars will not be allowed access.

Suffolk Street will also be pedestrianised, with access limited to loading before 11am – the same rules that currently apply to Grafton Street.
Consultation with the public will begin next month, with city architect Ali Grehan insistent that any changes forthcoming will be made with the utmost care to historical buildings in the area.
