This is like something from everyone’s favourite comedy.
Pat Daly, a Fianna Fáil member and the current Mayor of Ennis, has explained to JOE that he meant no harm when he told three female TDs that the campaign trail would be ‘good for yere figures.’
Daly was wishing luck to Ann Norton, Mary Howard and Clare Colleran Molloy when he made the remark, which he claims was not made with any sexist intent.
This is from the Clare People…

“That was a humorous remark I made at a meeting and wasn’t meant to be taken seriously at all,” he told JOE on Wednesday evening.
“I know the girls well and that was never meant to be put in a bad way. It was a bit of humour at a council meeting, there was no harm done, they took it very well. I’m walking miles and miles every night myself and sure my own figure will be trim after this.”
Sure they’ll have lovely bottoms, men and women alike.
