They’re putting their foot down.
The Gardaí have issued a notice to NUIG students that there will be a zero tolerance approach taken by the police to any bad behaviour that takes place during the college’s infamous RAG Week.
Galway City is known for being a vibrant, student city – so when RAG Week rolls around, there are often a lot of hi-jinks taking place throughout the whole area.

But this year the Gardaí are taking no nonsense, insisting that excessive drunkenness, drug use, public order offences and assaults will be met with fines, arrests, summons or imprisonment. They have gone as far as to draft in extra resources to help them deal with the looming threat of excessive craic.
