And they say the government don’t create jobs…
The government are asking the public to apply for the positions of part-time and full-time ushers in the Oireachtas. It’s a security role that would also involve giving tours of the houses of the Oireachtas, as well as dealing closely with TDs and senators.
Now we know what you’re thinking. There’s only one man for the job, the main man himself…

But unfortunately, the real Usher busy so it’s up to you to do the job.
The role is being advertised on publicjobs.ie and is being described as such:
Ushers work in Leinster House and are part of the Office of the Superintendent of the Houses of the Oireachtas Service. They are in regular contact with Members of both Houses and are generally the first point of contact with visitors.
This security role includes manning the entrances to Leinster House, controlling entry to the Dáil and Seanad Chambers, receiving visitors and conducting tours through Leinster House, and attending to the Ceann Comhairle and Clerks of the respective Houses. Applicants should have an interest in and knowledge of Irish Parliamentary history.
If that sounds like something you could do then make sure to apply. Further description of the role can be found here.
