Interesting information.
A new study has revealed that almost 250,000 drivers in Ireland received penalty points in 2015.
The biggest offence, by a distance, was speeding. It covered almost 75% of people caught for points.
The information which was published in the Irish Mirror today also showed the number of people caught drinking driving by An Garda Síochána.

Cavan has the highest rate in the country with 16 drink driving offences per 100,000 population.
Donegal and Kerry drivers are next with a rate of 15 offences per 100,000 followed by Limerick with 14 offences per 100,000.
