And it was starting to look good there for a few days.
Don’t let the brief spurts of decent weather we’ve enjoyed this week get your hopes up because it’s going to be very, very cold over the weekend.
According to Met Éireann, following pretty dry weather with only occasional showers throughout Friday, temperatures are set to drop as low as -2 on Friday night, with sleet and even snow possible over mountains in the north and east of the country.

Temperatures over the weekend are set to reach a maximum of 10 degrees as the cold weather continues through Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures once again set to plummet at night, to as low as -2 on Saturday night.
Current indications are that the start of next week won’t be much warmer and will be colder than usual for this time of year, although it is set to remain largely dry so at least that’s some consolation.
Looks like Ireland has just decided to skip spring and summer in favour of a 12-month winter; surely some respite must be coming soon?
