70 days after the people of Ireland went to the polls, we’ve finally got a new government, and a new Taoiseach.
Or rather, an old Taoiseach. Enda Kenny was elected Taoiseach by his fellow TDs this afternoon with 59 votes and 49 votes against – the lowest support for any Taoiseach in history.
As the big talking point of the day, Twitter has been all over it and, perhaps unsurprisingly, not everybody is thrilled with Ireland’s latest parliamentary arrangement.
