Apparently.
Having heard reports (*cough possibly on these pages *cough) that there was to be a heatwave this weekend, Irish people were pretty bemused at today’s weather conditions.
Fear not, however, because the warm weather is on its way, with Met Éireann forecasting highs of 20 and 21 degrees in much of the country on Sunday.

This being Ireland, it does come with a catch as scattered heavy and thundery showers will develop during Sunday afternoon and evening, but there’s better news for most of next week.
Warm and dry conditions will prevail in most parts of the country (Munster might not be so lucky) on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures again reaching 20 or 21 degrees.
It will cool down slightly again on Wednesday before an increase in temperatures on Thursday, with warm and dry conditions and temperatures in the low 20s set to be the norm for most of the country heading into next weekend.
The outlook isn’t so bad then, but after the misery of Saturday, we won’t go counting any chickens just yet.
