Enda Kenny brands Donald Trump’s immigration comments as ‘racist and dangerous’

It seems that our Taoiseach is hoping for a Democratic President.

Enda Kenny has spoken out against Donald Trump’s anti-immigration comments, branding them as ‘racist and dangerous.’

The Taoiseach refused to be drawn on Trump during his recent trip to Washington D.C., insisting that the battle for the presidency was “a matter for the American electorate.”

However, Kenny was questioned by Richard Boyd Barrett’s in the Dáil on Tuesday and his comments were far less diplomatic towards the businessman hoping to become the next leader of the free world.

Boyd Barrett asked Kenny if he would continue to allow the American military to use Shannon Airport should Trump win the election in November, given the New Yorker’s comments on immigrants during his campaign.

“If Trump’s comments are racist and dangerous, which they are, there is an alternative to vote for,” replied the Fine Gael leader.
