The Carlow native just goes from strength to strength.
Ever since she captivated audiences in her Oscar-nominated role in Atonement, Saoirse Ronan’s ascent up the Hollywood ladder has been nothing short of breathtaking.
The Carlow native has made some incredibly astute career choices which culminated in her Oscar nominated role for Brooklyn. Despite certain people being unable to pronounce her name, the Irish actress has just received another prestigious honour in the US.
She has just been named as one of ten people that are considered as a “Next Generation Leader” by Time magazine.
That’s not all because the Hanna and Lovely Bones star will also grace the cover.

Eliana Dockterman of Time magazine writes: “At 22, Ronan is at the forefront of a generation of female actors overturning expectations about how young women are portrayed in theater, film and television. Rejecting parts as an ingénue, sidekick or temptress, Ronan has racked up an impressive résumé of complex, unpredictable characters.”
Ronan most recent wowed Broadway audiences with her performance in Arthur Miller’s play The Crucible but she’s returning to cinema screens very soon with the release of Loving Vincent and The Seagull.
What an achievement for the talented actress.
