PICS: Parts of Dublin got hit pretty badly with flooding

Conor Heneghan

It was only a matter of time before the rain returned in a big way.

To be fair, we were spoiled with the fine weather for a couple of weeks and when there has been rain in the last week or so, it’s often been heavy, with some thunder and lightning for good measure.

Plenty of rain fell in Dublin on Tuesday afternoon, so much in Cabra, in fact, that a number of homes were flooded and some roads were impassable as a result.

The pictures below were sent our way by JOE reader, Helen Williams, who lives on Offaly Road, looking towards Christ the King Church in Cabra.

Helen told us that the power of the rain caused roof leaks in her home and other homes in the area, which wasn’t the only part of the capital affected on Tuesday afternoon.

By the looks of it, we haven’t seen the last of the rain this week either.

Cheers to Helen Williams for sending this our way. If you have something you would like to share with us, send it to our WhatsApp number 087-4001102, editorial@JOE.ie or hit us up on Facebook or Twitter.
