It’s reported that four to six people are being held.
Two men armed with knives have taken several people hostage in a church near Rouen in northern France.
Le Figrro have reported that between four and six people were being held by the assailants in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray but one of the people being held captive managed to escape and raise the alarm.
The priest died after his throat was slashed while he celebrated Mass.
The hostage takers have now been ‘neutralized’ according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior.
