An Irish politician was arrested THREE TIMES over the long weekend, according to reports

Carl Kinsella

Well, that surely has to be some kind of record.

According to reports that appeared in the Irish Times yesterday, an Irish politician was arrested three times over the course of the August bank holiday.

In a remarkable string of events, the politician was ejected from Indiependence music festival in Cork whereafter he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and taken to Fermoy Garda Station (where it is alleged he assaulted and spat at officers).

He was released on Monday morning, according to the Irish Times, but found himself back in trouble before long and arrested on suspicion of drink-driving just hours later. Despite being released a second time, the man ended up in custody once more later that day for being drunk and disorderly in Fermoy.

The name of the politician has not been revealed in the media, though the Irish Times report did state that he was “in his 30s and has served at national level.”

He is currently in custody in Fermoy Garda Station.
