She arrived in Dublin Airport this evening.
Michaella McCollum has returned to Ireland after being released from prison in Peru. The Tyrone native spent two-and-a-half years behind bars after being convicted of of smuggling nearly €2 million worth of cocaine through Lima airport.
McCollum was released halfway into her six years and eight months prison sentence at Ancon Dos jail in Lima but she was asked to remain in Peru by the authorities.
She has now returned to Ireland as reported by Newstalk’s senior reporter Sean Defoe and RTE journalist Sandra Hurley.
