Here are the best paid jobs in Ireland by sector

With plenty of students having recently received their first round CAO offers, now is the best time to be looking ahead and official date that has been released from the Central Statistics Office has revealed that the average salary in Ireland rose in the first three months of 2016 to €37,000 before tailing off.

If you happen to work in I.T then you’re in the money because it’s the paid sector. Information and Communications, which includes IT companies, publishing houses and telecommunications, topped the list as employees recorded an average weekly wage of €1,063.39.

Not far behind IT was the financial, insurance and real estate sector (€1,014.66) while the weekly earnings of employees in the public administration and defence sector fell from from €933.00 to €900.88, but they still rank in the top 3.

With regards to the age old debate between private sector and public secroe pay, the average weekly earnings in the private sector rose from €635.52 to €644.98 in the year but this figure is still dwarfed by the public sector at €905.97.

The average wage of an employee in Ireland is €703.83.
